This passenger vessel caught fire when staying
at berth. Our surveyor was called by the hull
underwriter for damage survey including the
cause investigation and the damaged vessel
evaluation. The vessel sank at berth due to
excessive water ingression to her engine room,
boiler room as well as passenger cabins. |

The bulker collided with a chemical tanker
in Bohai Bay, our surveyor appointed by her
hull underwriters, carried out damage survey,
repair monitoring survey and the W.P. survey
to the opponent vessel repair in China (bottom
left corner). As the local repair price was
well known and understood by our surveyor,
her also assessed both vessels’ repair costs.
It made the parties concerned much easier
in final settlement of this collision dispute.

There would be some of collision cases happened
locally along northern part coast of China.
Thanks to the repair facilities in Dalian,there
are Dalian Shipyard, Dalian New Shipyard and
Dalian COSCO Shipyard and some small size
repair yard as well, they could not only build
the VLCC, but also repair all kinds of merchant
ships. The Sanjie Maritime surveyors have
dealt with many cases of collision damage
repairs, speed and angle of blow, repair account
assessment and loss of earning determination. |

This passenger/truck ferry sustained starboard
tail shaft broken during navigation. Luckily,
its propeller and propeller shaft was still
hanging on her A frame. On behalf of her hull
underwriter, we found out the cause of damage
by employ metallurgist, applying a lab test,
and strength calculation. Our conclusion was
finally recognized by both of the ship owner
and the hull underwriters |

The vessel drifting into sea cultivation area
damaged the sea farm. On call of her Hull
Underwriter and P & I Club, our surveyor
attended to the spot at the possible earliest
opportunity and carried out the damage survey
to both the sea farm and the vessel. As sufficient
information had been supplied to the principle,
this case was settled within on month! |

Before the oil drilling rig being loaded into
a barge, it was found the underneath hull
with many leakages, and it would not de-ballast
the rig to a requested draft. The divers worked
under the direction of our surveyor for several
days and stopped all leakages. Finally the
rig was managed to requested draft and loaded
into the barge safely. The rig intended to
Singapore for docking repair. |

On behalf of a European P & I Club, our
surveyors carried out a pre-entry condition
survey to the vessel. And it was found the
vessel’s cargo holds shell plating had been
in heavy corrosion. By an own-operated thickness
test, the shell plating diminution was found
to be beyond limit, so the vessel’s official
thickness test report was suspected as fake.
We fully reported the condition to the Club
and the vessel was rejected. Six months later
the vessel sank with full load of log near
one of Malaysian ports. According to the survival
crew, the vessel sustained an ingression in
her cargo holds. ( The bottom right

On behalf of a German Hull Underwriter, we
carried out a renewal survey to a container
vessel’s CPP boss. A total costs including
the cost of first docking in Singapore were
also assessed by our surveyor. |

The Sanjie Maritime had completed many cases
of engineering damages, by reporting to the
principles of the actual damage extent, we
also tried out best to find out the cause
of damage and repairs carried out, and to
assess the repair costs. |

Not only the survey to ships and cargoes,
the shore facilities damage survey was also
carried out by our surveyor. A container vessel’s
ship-crane made a contact to the shore gantry
crane, our surveyor, on behalf of the vessel’s
P & I Club, attended a joint survey with
the port representative, and then settled
the case on principle in an easy way. |

| 12 The pre-shipment and outturn survey,
as well as the cargo size measurement for
steel products were also our tasks. We have
achieved many cases of such surveys on behalf
of P & I Clubs, ship owners and other
parties concerned.

13 Some accidents also could happened to the
new buildings, we have done several cases
concerning this kind of claims in Dalian
Shipyard and Dalian New Shipyard in recent
years.
